Boom, planet 1!
The moment the ship sets down it's going to be clear that this place is horribly dry. It's basically an interstellar refueling station on a planet with two suns. It's boiling hot all of the time and water is a precious resource. The planet's inhabitants have learned to deal without shade and liquid.
Guess what!
They're giant geckos!
They don't speak human language and the town near the galactic petrol station isn't exactly huge, but there's a bustling market filled with clothes and other fineries that can be bargained for. However, it doesn't really begin until mid-morning and the entire town shuts down at night - the only time it's cool.
A few suspiciously body part shaped items on some shady looking stalls will probably be the only real evidence of mammals you'll see during the day. At night, you might catch sight of some packs of wolves in the distance, though.
The ship will land on the 30th and take off again on the 14th!
